Parts of Ethiopia are safe to travel by road and parts are not, and the honest answer changes month to month. The main southern routes from Addis Ababa (Bishoftu, Hawassa, Arba Minch, Langano) and the roads inside Addis are ones we drive every week. Some northern and western regions have restrictions or active problems, and there we recommend flying or waiting.
