No, not as of 28 September 2026. Official travel advice warns against travel to the Afar region, where the Danakil lies, with no travel at all near the Eritrean border or the Tigray boundary. The usual gateways are also closed to visitors: civilian flights to Tigray, including Mekelle, are suspended, and foreign nationals currently cannot travel to airports in Afar.
